The Dog's Butchers

Founded in 2013, The Dog’s Butchers, a producer of raw dog food, has seen incredible growth over the past few years and have added various units to the compound; they needed a solution to increase their production and distribution efficiency.

As an industry, pet food has seen significant growth since the pandemic, with the Pet Food Manufacturers association estimating 3.2 million households acquired a pet between the beginning of the pandemic to April 2021.

The Dog’s Butchers have been able to capitalise on this demand seeing a high increase in customer expectations for their pet food.

Contacting CRS, one of our experts met with the client and designed an easier process whereby a flow of materials could pass from the factory, into a high-quality blast freezer, to a holding freezer and into a dispatch area for the products. By continuing to add units to the site to facilitate their growth and demand, the company reached a point whereby it had too many units for an efficient operations process.

The new system was designed not only to simplify the company’s operations but also to allow them to save money in the long run-on electric bills.
